Who is ignis
Ignis is a rhythmic choir conducted by Christian Fris-Ronsfeld.
With a strong focus on musicality, high ambitions, and a strong sense of community, Ignis brings together 37 singers from across the country.
We sing a broad rhythmic repertoire and ambitious 6- to 8-part arrangements, full of energy and presence.
Koret har base i Aarhus og mødes 8 gange om året til korøver. Derudover er alle aktive i udvalg og sociale aktiviteter.
In ignis, community is the foundation of everything we do. Music and togetherness are equally important. This is evident on stage, where joy and passion are transformed into powerful musical moments and a shared experience with the audience.
Our story
The choir was founded in 2024 by the conductor and a group of singers who were passionate about creating a musical and social space filled with spirited, dedicated individuals. That is precisely what our name, Ignis, stands for.
Ignis, which means ‘flame’ in Latin, strongly symbolizes our passion and shared burning enthusiasm for choral music.
Since the choirs beginning, we have performed in Berlin, as well as with the band Kryd at Train and at the Aarhus Vocal PreFestival. In addition, the choir has performed at various venues in Aarhus.
