Christian Fris-Ronsfeld

Christian Fris-Ronsfeld is a choir conductor, arranger, and workshop leader based in Aarhus.

He is the conductor of the Danish choir ignis and works as the artistic director of the Mariagerfjord Korskole at Mariagerfjord Kulturskole – one of Europe’s most renowned schools for rhythmic vocal music. In 2022, he received the "European Voices Award" for his innovative pedagogical work with Mariagerfjord Pigekor, which he has conducted for over a decade. The choir has performed across Denmark and abroad, collaborating with prominent Danish artists such as Oh Land, Hjalmer, and Steffen Brandt. Most recently, the choir toured major Danish venues—including the DR Concert Hall in Copenhagen—alongside the Danish artist Gobs.

He has been the conductor of the award-winning Danish choirs Syng Selected and Naura. Christian Fris-Ronsfeld is a sought-after conductor and adjudicator at festivals, competitions, and choral events across Europe and the USA (including the European Choir Games 2025, Europa Cantat, Europa Cantat Junior, the German Choral Competition, Chor.com, and Choralies). His choral arrangements are performed by ensembles throughout Europe and published by Schott and Helbling.

He serves as a board member and workshop coordinator for the Aarhus Vocal Festival (AAVF), one of the world’s most prestigious vocal festivals.

Christian holds a master’s degree in rhythmic choral conducting, rhythmic vocal studies, and ear training from the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg, as well as a state-certified qualification for teaching at the upper secondary level from the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg.
